2015 Rally On The Rocks Recap.
Moab, Utah
May 13th – May 16th
It’s that time of the year again when the Side By Side Rally season gets back into full swing. This time of the year you can find events being held in nearly every part of the country from the East to the West, North to the South. One of the many rallies that take place in the month of May is Rally On The Rocks, held in the amazing town of Moab, Utah.
Moab offers some of the best UTV riding in the nation. This includes rock crawling, hill climbing, trail riding and sand dunes as well as offering lots of other outdoor activities like rafting, rock climbing, mountain biking and canoeing. Moab also offers indescribable views of the amazing surroundings in a 360 degree panoramic scene. The breathtaking views of the landscape never get old, every time you turn a corner or top a hill its a surreal scenic experience all over again.
Moab offers thousands of miles pristine trails making it the perfect location for the UTV event called Rally On The Rocks. 2015 marks Rally On The Rocks’ 6th annual event held in Moab. The event is headquartered at the Old Spanish Trail Arena just minutes South of Moab, Utah on HWY 191. The arena is the perfect location with a large indoor area packed with vendors as well as a large paved parking area that doubled for additional vendors as well as vehicle parking. The arena also has camping but probably needs to be reserved well in advance of the rally.
Rally On The Rocks is a special Side By Side event because it is one of the few events that offer daily guided trails that you can sign up for. Each day of the rally you can sign up for one of between 12 and 15 trails to ride. Each ride is supplied with an experienced trail guide ensuring that all participants remain safe and don’t get lost on the trail. The trail options range from zero difficulty and rideable by any skill level right up to nearly impassible trails requiring high levels of experience. Many of the excursions leave directly from the park around 10 am and return between 3 and 5 pm. Several of the excursions required the use of a trailer requiring you to haul your UTV to the trail head and leave from there.
ROTR is also a great event to see all of the new products released by the UTV OEMS as well as the aftermarket manufacturers. OEM’s like Kawasaki, Yamaha, Can-Am and Arctic Cat were on hand offering demo rides and showing off their 2015 lineups. Vendors offering every possible aftermarket product were also on hand displaying every product imaginable for your UTV. Many vendors were not only displaying products but also had products on hand to sell on site.
We highly recommend checking out Rally On The Rocks next year, it is a fun event! Many businesses in Moab offer UTV rentals so even if you’re not within driving range you can still partake in this event. Next year’s 2016 ROTR will start May 10th and go through May 14th. Be sure to add it to your calendar, you won’t regret attending Rally On The Rocks.
