3rd Annual ERX Off-Road National
ERX Motor Park | Elk River, Minnesota

Kevin Cutts and the Cutts Racing team ventured to ERX Motor Park in Elk River, Minnesota for the 3rd Annual ERX Off-Road National July 13th and 14th. The Lucas Oil Midwest Short Course League event sponsored by Polaris featured classes for high horsepower trucks, off road buggies, modified karts, formula 4×4 vehicles and of course UTVs.

On Friday Kevin qualified 17th, Kevin had some small issues with his Polaris RZR so he turned the car down on power a little to keep it safe & reliable. “We started the race and there were 4 wrecks back to back” states Kevin.  “We got a total of 5 race laps instead of 12 and we worked our way to 8th place finish.”

On Saturday’s race Kevin qualified 11th. “We started getting hot on lap 5 and I stopped running at 100% to stay alive” Kevin explained. “Competition caution came out on lap 6 which brought my temps from 230 to 190 which allowed us to get back to 100% on lap 7, however we got hot again on the beginning on lap 8.  Then there was a wreck in turn 1”, Kevin continues, “this allowed us to cool off for good to complete the race with a 7th place finish.”

“We are going to move some things around on the car and add an oil cooler to prevent any more overheating.” Kevin concluded. “We are excited to test this setup before our next race at Bark River in Michigan, our goal is to put a little more power back into the car without causing issues or disrupting anything else so that we can run up front and achieve a podium finish.”
