A favorite “close to home” event of ours is Rally at the Mines. Held at St. Joe State Park in Park Hills, Missouri, the two day event, hosted by Midwest Sports Center, is a great one to add to your calendar. From group rides and OEM demo rides to a variety of vendors, entertainment and prizes the event features plenty of fun actives for the whole family.

The state park features over 2,000 acres of OHV riding with a wide variety of terrain. From rocky lake beds and sand flats to wooded trails and hill climbs, there’s something for just about every type of rider. The park is also home to a historic mine site that offers tours as well as a museum full of geological specimens and old mining equipment to check out.

You may remember our Facebook posts from the event, but did you catch our Instagram posts? We posted some our favorite machines from the event as well as a few great moments.

We took our 2018 Polaris General 4 1000 and hit a ton of trails. We really thought this was a great place to ride, however we did run into a few tight spots for our 4 seater General resulting in little cosmetic damage to one of our doors. You guys know how it goes sometimes.

The park features some vast sand flats that makes it nice to get going at high speeds.

One of the coolest Polaris RZRs at the event, Bert’s Fab and Design did an awesome job customizing this SxS.

We’ve seen this Polaris Ranger at a few events before, definitely a nice build.

The Textron Wildcat XX was fairly new at the time, we ran into some Textron guys who brought a new unit out. They were kind enough to let us take it for a spin; test driving this baby was a ton of fun.

We all love unique builds, this Tide themed Yamaha Rhino was pretty cool.

Nice rig.

This rock bouncer was spotted in the vendor area, would have loved to see this high horsepower rig on the trails. None the less, it’s pretty cool.

It was great to see our friends from SXS Insanity. We had to give them a shout out, they have been a longtime STUFF supporter and we appreciate it.

One of the group ride activities during this event is a guided night ride through the park. This ride actually takes you beyond the OHV area and into some trails that are closed to the public. Pretty cool right? Plus it was awesome to see so many UTVs on the ride, it seemed like the line went on for days.

Hanging out with the Bert’s Fab and Design guys, Bert decided to have some fun and test the durability of his new custom doors.

OEM demo rides are a great attraction for the event, Can-Am was there with a fleet of new Maverick X3 side by sides to test drive.

The Textron guys also brought a new Havoc, we didn’t test drive it but it was still cool to check out.

If you haven’t already, take a look at the full 2018 Rally at the Mines event recap along with a ton of great photos.
