The mission of the Lone Star Warriors Outdoors is to say “Thank You” to our Nation’s combat Wounded and Injured Warriors who have sacrificed mind and body in the fight on terrorism by providing a fun and relaxing atmosphere while introducing or reconnecting and teaching the American tradition of hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. Second to provide a time of mental healing or therapy by allowing Wounded Warriors to meet others that have been in the same situation, allowing each to talk about issues that only they understand.
In 2012, Chris Gill started a journey to help wounded warriors who were returning home from combat. The
Lone Star Warriors Outdoors foundation was born with the sole purpose of taking wounded heroes and getting them back into nature and saying thank you for their service and sacrifice. Chris was himself injured while serving his country so Lone Star Warrior Outdoors comes from his heart and knowing first hand that the healing process can be a difficult and long process. Lone Star Warriors Outdoors was created to take these injured warriors on outdoor adventures, hunting, fishing, golfing and ATV riding.
“With 22 veterans a day committing suicide, LSWO feels that outdoor adventures offer warriors the
opportunity to build lasting relationships like ones they made while serving in the military. We feel the reason the suicide rate is so high is because these injured servicemen lack relationships with others who have also been injured in the line of duty. Getting to know a fellow brother that went through the same thing you have is some of the strongest medicine out there. We have seen many of these guys keep in touch with each other, that is exactly what we want.” Chris explained.
The purpose of the Muddin’ For The Military event is to raise money for Wounded Warriors with all proceeds helping to fund the Lone Star Warriors Outdoors which is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation. Chris told us that the Muddin’ For The Military, held at Muddy Bottoms ATV Park, is LSWO’s main fund raising event for the year and is essential for continuing LSWO’s mission. We are excited to partner again with Muddy Bottoms ATV Park, this is the perfect location to have this event.” This is the second year for Muddy Bottoms to host Muddin For The Military and we really appreciate it.”
Chris, along with good friend and strong supporter of LSWO, T.W. “Gas Cap” Howell, have taken over event organization for the 2015 Muddin’ For The Military. “We are counting on those who have supported us in the past as well as hoping to gain new support making this an event that will surpass all others. Chris continued, “This is a great way to raise money to take these warriors on these adventures. There is not a better community to rally behind them than the ATV and Side By Side community which is why we do this each year. It’s moving to see the outpouring of support for our wounded servicemen. The attendees of Muddin’ For The Military are such generous people.”
Muddy Bottoms ATV Park is located outside the town of Sarepta, LA and is now the home of Muddin’ For The Military. With 5,000 acres of land to explore and over 100 miles of trails, Muddy Bottoms is the perfect place to hold this event. There is going to be a large fireworks show on the 4th along with live music from Frank Foster and Black Water Bride starting at 8:30pm. Check out the action of the Championship Mud Racing series at the mud pit with head to head UTV mud racing. I was invited by Lone Star Warriors Outdoors this past weekend 6-8 sept, 2013 to a dove hunt at Cole Creek Ranch, Christoval ,TX. This truly was a very memorable event. From the time myself and my battle buddies hit the ground we were welcomed with open arms by Chris Gill the founder of the organization and Ryan and Tiffany Hayes and the rest of the Cole Creek Ranch family. I highly recommend anyone that has an opportunity to attend an event to get after it. It was a weekend with action packed events from four wheeling, hunting, high powered rifles, and spending time with Great Americans ! Thank You Whoahhhh!!

“I would like to thank Lone star warriors outdoors, for the wonderful opportunity this last weekend. The hunt was a very relaxing and enjoyable one. However this was like no other hunting experience I’ve ever had. I was surrounded by very caring Christian people that were always there to talk, and all night if need be. This weekend was a healing step for sure. And once again thanks to everyone involved. “
