2015 High Lifter Mud Nationals
Mud Creek Off-Road Park
March 25th-29th
Jacksonville, TX
For the last ten years, thousands of off roaders have come from all across the country and even other parts of the world to partake in one of the largest off road events in the nation. Located southeast of Dallas is the town of Jacksonville, TX and home to Mud Creek Off-Road Park which is the home of the High Lifter Mud Nationals. Once again this year was no exception, thousands flocked to the Piney Woods Region of East Texas for live music, socializing, racing, riding and of course to get muddy!
Although there is plenty of riding to do when you attend Mud Nationals there is a lot more activities on tap. Audio Formz held a Mud Jam competition to see who had the loudest UTV stereo setup. There was a gnarly obstacle course competition to test your skills if you were up for it, sponsored by Polaris. A poker run was available and put on by MB Quart, the S3 Powersports endurance challenge looked pretty interesting. A Mudda-Cross event, also brought to you by Polaris, was a huge crowd favorite. There were also lots of product vendors displaying every kind of UTV product on the market, several OEM manufacturers brought out their 2015 line up including Can-Am, Polaris, Intimidator, Kymco, CF Moto and Arctic Cat. And of course what’s a rally without some good live entertainment in the evening? Mud Nationals had some great live country music Friday and Saturday evenings.
Located in Shreveport, LA, High Lifter Products is one of the leaders in the aftermarket product manufacturing for UTV’s and ATV’s. In 2003, High Lifter decided to get together for a weekend of riding with friends, customers and off-road enthusiasts as well as give High Lifter a chance to showcase some new products. It was such a success, Mud Nationals as an annual event was born. In 2005, the event was moved to Mud Creek Off-Road Park where it has been held since. Rumors have been flying about the future of Mud Nationals but High Lifter’s Owner Scott Smith assured Side By Side Stuff that there are absolutely no plans to move the event anywhere else. Scott told us “Mud Nationals is an event at Mud Creek and thats not going to change.”
With around 4100 acres and miles of trails, Mud Creek Off-Road Park is the perfect place to hold an event like Mud Nationals. The park offers abundant amounts of primitive camping as well as 115 RV sites with water and electricity hook-ups. There are multiple elevation changes throughout the property as well as lots of creek crossings and low lying swampy areas to explore. The park also has several mud pits for those who like to put the snorkel on and get wet. Hardwood forests, marshes and river bottom land provide endless riding opportunities throughout the park for all skill levels. You can get muddy, wet or find trails to stay dry, it’s all up to you.
The 2015 High Lifter Mud Nationals was another big success and a good time had by all. If you’re looking for a great event with music, socializing, racing, riding and getting muddy then make sure to put 2016 Mud Nationals on your calendar!
