THIS is a BIG deal. For years, Super ATV has been known for the quality and affordability of their products. Super ATV teams have been all over North America, testing their products on their personal machines and going back to the shop with new, innovative ideas to present to their customers. Super ATV also sponsors several riders and attends most of the major events around the country. This year, they’re taking on a whole new challenge. Super ATV will introduce driver, Tyler Greves, and their in-house built 2016 Polaris RZR XP Turbo race car at King of The Hammers Polaris UTV Race on Feb 3rd, and then go on to race in the Best In The Desert Series: Polaris RZR UTV World Championship on Feb 18-20th.
King of The Hammers has been called one of the toughest one-day racing events on the planet. This race takes place each year in February, on public lands in Johnson Valley, CA. According to the official website of Hammerking Productions, Ultra4Racing.com, King of The Hammers has evolved from 12 teams racing for bragging rights and a case of beer, to more than 300 teams competing before more than 35,000 fans in-person and nearly 500,000 watching online.
“We’ve been talking about it for a few years and now we’re finally at this point,” says Super ATV driver, Tyler Greves, 28. “We’ve tried to create a constant presence within the side by side community by showing up with our trailers at events, providing parts to the riders and fans, and being there for tech support and that sort of thing. Getting into the racing scene ourselves has always been in the back of our minds because it plays a big role. People really appreciate seeing the company’s car there racing, beating on their own parts and kickin’ it with other racers. It instills pride and loyalty for not only us, but our customers too.”
Greves says he got started racing dirt bikes at the age of five, where he got his first taste of adrenaline and has been hooked ever since. The first UTV he had was a RZR 800. After that he dabbled with a RZR 900, RZR 1000, and now the XP Turbo. Greves started working for Super ATV in 2009 and according to Super ATV National Sales Manager, Stephen Sheets, Greves has become an integral part of making sure their products do what they say they will.
“I started off in forum administration and customer service backup, answering questions and taking orders,” Greves remembers. “Speaking with customers both on the forums and on the phone to get real world feedback to better the company gave me a better understanding of our product line and products to develop. From there, I moved to doing product testing/engineering. Here, I was able to get more involved on the technical side of what it takes to produce a Super ATV product.”
Now that he’s out in the field, Greves can put the products to the test and document it all. “I’ve always been passionate with videography and photos. I remained lead on product testing but am shifting from engineering into media specialist. You’ll start to see more videos of real world testing, installations and how-to’s.”

After King of The Hammers, Greves and the Super ATV team will go on to race in the UTV World Championship on February 18-20, 2016. “I’d say the Polaris RZR UTV World Championship will grow into one of the big-time events,” Greves predicts. “All the big contenders want to show up to this one because it’s a championship and we all want that title. I know it just started last year but I think it has great potential to be up there with King of The Hammers and the Baja 1000. I think it will become a really big event that people look forward to every year, and one that all the manufactures will want to be a part of. Last year, there were already tons of people and I’m sure this year there will be more. It’s just one of those races you know all the top dogs are going to show up to and really bring it.”
“We’re getting our feet wet here,” Greves explains, “We’re introducing our first race car and obviously want to do well, but our main goal is to show that our products can handle being severely abused from an in-house driver, especially on intense and extremely difficult terrain. It makes a big impression having our own car there, one that’s fully Super ATV built in-house and includes all of the top of the line products that we offer. We’ve designed a car that’s built to last and to get us to the finish line. We also just want to see where we stand amongst everybody. The west coast is known for super brutal terrain, so if we can get to the finish line, that’s really saying something. We want to race the toughest races and prove that our products can handle the ultimate abuse.”
