The 2021 Sand Sports Super Show | The World's Biggest Sand Sports Expo is Back - Side By Side Stuff

After a year off due to the pandemic, the world’s biggest Sand Sports Expo, the Sand Sports Super Show, returned to the OC Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa, California on September 17th – 19th, 2021! Off-road enthusiasts were eager to get out and get back to the fun and it showed as they made the 2021 event bigger than ever with attendance numbers at a new all-time high. While technically the show piggybacked last year’s Arizona Off-Road Expo, it was great to see it back in Costa Mesa and in full force!

The Sand Sports Super Show boasts hundreds of aftermarket parts vendors alongside OEMs, industry-related companies, and the best of the best, baddest builds in the west. It’s definitely one of our favorite expos of the year, the show sets the stage for the beginning of the sand dune riding season and plays a key role in the UTV industry.

With nearly 300 vendors present, there was so much to see! Many aftermarket parts and accessory companies displayed their latest products, showcasing the best in bolt-on parts. As a parts company, we love it! It’s a great opportunity to check out what’s new, see the latest innovations, and find new brands and products to add to our store. Plus, we get to touch base with a ton of friends who represent some of our favorite brands in the industry.

One of the best things about the Sand Sports Super Show is the decked-out UTVs and custom builds! Hundreds of the coolest rides are spread out throughout the show as part of vendor booths. There were several over-the-top builds that were downright awesome! Be sure to go through our photo gallery at the bottom of this page to check them out.

Several side by side OEMs like Can-Am, Polaris, Honda, Kawasaki, and Yamaha were present at the expo and showing off their latest UTV models, sponsored race UTVs and some of their own builds as well.

Polaris showcased the new Polaris GENERAL XP 1000 Troy Lee Designs Edition at their booth, with only 700 made, it was cool to check out this Limited Edition SxS.

At the Can-Am booth, Can-Am had UFC fighter Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone’s custom S3 Powersports Can-Am Defender MAX 6×6. It was definitely a crowd favorite.

Robby Gordon and Speed SxS were at the show as well, showing off the latest development in Robby’s Speed SxS race-ready UTVs. These were so popular with attendees; it took a while to get some photos; the crowd hovered around these rigs all weekend long.

The Sand Sports Super Show always brings out a wide variety of off-road celebrities and racers. We ran into dozens! We even caught legend Jeremy McGrath strolling the show around with his family. It was great to see everyone! I had to get a few selfies in too, posted above is me and one of my favorite industry celebrities, UTV racer Dustin “Battle Axe” Jones.

All in all, the Sand Sports Super Show was awesome! Back and bigger than ever, that for sure! It was great to catch up with our UTV industry friends, get a look at the latest aftermarket parts and accessories, as well as check out all the really cool builds!
