One of a kind custom Trophy Truck
One of the great things about attending lots of UTV rallies is the chance to meet and talk to people from all over this great country. Every person you meet has a unique personality and often times that uniqueness transfers to their rig and how it’s customized. Today’s featured ride is a totally unique RZR 900 that has been transformed into a one-off Baja style Trophy Truck and is owned by Bo McElwee.
We ran into Bo and his wild ride while attending “Muddin’ for the Military” rally held at Muddy Bottoms ATV Park over the 4th of July this year. I saw Bo driving his RZR and knew I had to chase him down and find out what it was. Bo has one of the most unique Side by Sides we have come across; it’s a head turner to say the least and we love it.
Bo’s rig started life as a 2012 RZR 900; however there isn’t much left of the stock RZR factory appearance. Every body piece except the dash has been removed to make way for tons of custom components. The roll cage has been totally modified with bracing added as well as powder coated blue. A custom body kit was scratch built to transform this RZR 900 into a UTV one of a kind Baja racing Trophy Truck.
Underneath, a 5″ High Lifter lift kit was added for ground clearance and to make room for big rims and tires. 17″ STI rims were installed with a set of 30″ Rocktane tires, also supplied by STI. A custom front bumper was fabricated with a mount to accept a 20″ LED light bar. A 30″ LED light bar is also attached to the roll cage. Witts Elite Graphics from Bossier City, La did the custom painting, vinyl wrapping and powder coating which really sets off the rig, even adding a Chevy emblem on the front hood for good luck.
Bo McElwee has one outstandingly unique Side by Side that gets a lot of attention. We love coming across new visions of what UTVing can be and Bo’s RZR 900 “Baja Edition” is one of the finest examples of having a unique vision and successfully executing it in a stylish manner.
